7 October 2024 – Bucharest and online
The event “Championing a responsible digital transition for and with cultural heritage” addresses various themes and challenges on digital technologies to enhance sustainability, inclusion, and diversity in the heritage sector.
Building on the outcomes of the first European Heritage Hub Forum held in 2023 in Venice, which explored the role and impact of cultural heritage in Europe’s green transformation, this second Forum will delve into the challenges and opportunities presented by digital transition. It will explore how the cultural heritage sector can and is already embracing a socially and environmentally responsible digital transition and how it can support and inspire Europe’s digital future.
The Forum is organised in the frame of the European Heritage Hub EU-funded pilot project, with the vital input of all Hub partners and powered by Europeana. It is a key component of the European Cultural Heritage Summit organised by Europa Nostra under the High Patronage of the President of Romania and in cooperation with and support from the European Commission.
The event will consist of two interlinked components: policy conversations and an interactive exploration and fair that will showcase a diverse array of projects, initiatives, and best practices. EUreka3D will be present at the exhibition, with visual materials disseminating the general information about the project and the upcoming events (the second webinar series “Transforming Heritage” organised in collaboration with International Council on Archives, and the final conference).
